Honor and Remembrance

May 25th, 2008

This Memorial Day Listio would like to express out heartfelt thanks and concern for those who are serving, and those who have served and sacrificed.

For people who would like to honor and learn more about our veterans, here are two webservices. First is the often overlooked Library of Congress, whose Veteran’s History Project is a resource for anyone interested in the experiences or history of veterans. Combining historical resources and personal experience online, the Veteran’s History Project compiles stories and information from World War I to Iraq into a searchable database (genealogy buffs will like the ability to search by name). Interested family or veterans can also work with the LOC to contribute, ensuring a more lasting memory.

Next is the forum-social network-aggregate iVeteran, which is run by veterans, for veterans. Blogs, photos, pictures, links to relevant articles, iVeteran has vets in mind, and knows that it never hurts to blow off a little steam. Find both of these webservices with the Listio search: veterans

New to Listio? Our tag cloud search offers an easy way to narrow your hunt for the perfect web application or service. No more second guessing of search terms. Just click on one tag, then as many more as you'd like to narrow your search results. It's easy and ensures you get to the listing you want. Finding web 2.0 was never so easy.
