Invoices Made Easy: Invoicing Through The Mail
Billing can get caught up on the smallest of things sometimes, like putting off learning a program because of its complexity, or printing a number of invoices but not sending them out. Invoices Made Easy offers a solution to those kind of problems with its straightforward invoicing platform.
The Invoices Made Easy interface is a familiar one - unlike many applications that package their applications in boxes with tabs, Invoices Made Easy keeps to a simple web format, with links on the page opening pages rather than dialog boxes. It’s part of Invoices Made Easy’s plan to keep things simple, which they do.
Starting from the opening page this simplicity is present as links extend outward to invoicing, customers, and payments, each opening a page that has a similar feel. With Invoices Made Easy there are no graphics to adjust in your invoices. Just add your company details, import your logo, and start invoicing. The only options there are are options that you would need for billing; setting universal settings for invoices (such as customer and invoice numbers), standard messages that appear on invoices, and mailing options. It is the mailing options that distinguishes Invoices Made Easy from other applications, where they offer to, for a small fee per invoice, ship out your invoices for you. For companies that are understaffed or suffer from procrastination this is an attractive feature, one that is well partnered with another automation — the application also supports online payments through Authorize.net and Paypal.
As part of their navigation Invoices Made Easy requires you to use the links on the left of the page, so if we want to create or view invoices, we need to click on the Invoices link before we can access the links to create or view invoices. This is definitely an inconvenience, but with Invoices Made Easy there are few distractions once we find the page we want. On the invoices page there are two options; create an invoice, and view invoices. As a default we are shown what invoices are paid or unpaid, and have the option to filter by status (net 30, unpaid, and so on), by date range, or by delivery status (Email or EasyMail). When we click on the Create Invoice link a form opens that allows us to fillout our invoice, attach a document, and if we’ve entered the details for our products or services (Configure link then Products/Services), we can use the pull down options in the form to automatically fill in the invoice.
To access the payments a similar process is done, beginning with a click on the Payments link on the left, which then opens to the payment list and a link for entering a payment. Clicking on the Enter Payment link opens a page with a form for entering payments, and includes a pulldown menu to specify what type of payment it is. Online payments must first be setup from the Online Payments link on the left. Reports can generated, by date range, as Sales by Product, Invoicing Aging, or Sales by Customer.
The feature that users may most respond to is the EasyMail feature, where they will send out the invoice for you through the postal mail. For businesses that require paper invoices, or businesses sending an invoice to consumers, the ability to have a paper invoice printed and mailed can be time saver and worth the cost. Each invoice costs at least $1.00 to mail, and Invoices Made Easy offers purchasable credits for your convenience. Delivery options not withstanding, users may find that Invoices Made Easy is too limiting in its simplicity, and that the navigation, the lack of preset rates for taxable items, or the monochrome interface does not fulfill their invoicing needs. For others, who are seeking no frills invoicing with the option for automatic mail delivery, Invoices Made Easy is a good option. To find this or applications like it, there is the Listio search invoice+business.

Thanks for the great review!
You have nailed the Invoices Made Easy philosophy perfectly - keep it simple! There are plenty of complicated accounting packages out there for businesses who need that type of thing. But for the ultra-small business who just needs to send and track invoices, we think we’re a pretty good solution. And at just $5/month, it doesn’t get much cheaper.
I’d also like to note that Invoices Made Easy will be introducing a completely redesigned UI in the coming months (it *should* be in beta in a few weeks).
On a final note, Invoices Made Easy gives users a free 30 day trial. Even better, you don’t have to enter any payment information in order to start the trial. Instead of forcing you to cancel at the end of 30 days (or risk being billed then having to ask for a refund), we let you sign up without any commitment then continue with a paid subscription if you choose to do so.
Thanks again for the review.
