Eventbrite: Event Management With Options

November 12th, 2008

Eventbrite LogoThis is the third review in our series of event management applications. For an introduction to this category, including a rundown of features common to all four applications reviewed this week, please see: Managing Events With Web 2.0.

The first thing you notice about Eventbrite is how effective the layout is, drawing you straight to the information in a visually pleasing manner. The next thing you notice, as you create an event, is that Eventbrite puts everything you need to create the event on the same page, centralizing it to keep it simple.

Eventbrite, as with the other applications this week, has the ability to manage events by managing contacts, and it provides a webpage portal, yet what makes Eventbrite unique are the options for ticket handling. In addition to the PayPal and Google merchant, Eventbrite offers options for credit cards, pay at the door, invoice, and check. For users who are managing events that have up-to-the-last-minute attendance, these are helpful options. There are no fees for free events, but paid tickets priced above $39.95 will be charged 2.5% with a cap of $9.95.

EventBrite Information Gathering

Attendee management is also something that Eventbrite supports well; ticket sales are limited by location capacity, and attendee names can be gathered to generate attendee badges (PDF) that can be printed. Reports can also be generated, filtered by names and attendee details, and exported to xls. Invitation status (attending, not, and whether the invite was sent) can be monitored on a dashboard , and custom questions can be asked of attendees through the Collect Registration Info link.

EventBrite Ticketing

Promotion with Eventbrite also has features that are uncommon. On top of tagging and listing your event in their directory, Eventbrite offers partnering with affiliate programs - other events that may be related to yours - to help draw in new attendees. Discounts and tracking links are also accessible through the sidebar of the application, as is integration into your website (insertable code). To find this and other applications like it there is the Listio search: events+manage.
