Comparison of Feedback Applications: Uservoice, Get Satisfaction, and SuggestionBox.com
This is our wrap up of web 2.0 feedback applications - to see an introduction to the subject, please see our first post, Introduction to Feedback Applications.
In this series we looked at the feedback applications Get Satisfaction, Uservoice, and SuggestionBox.com, which let customers give feedback and companies respond. All of the applications offer a variety of features for professionals, including the ability to track discussions.
| Get Satisfaction | Uservoice | SuggestionBox.com | |
| Track feedback | yes | yes | yes |
| Employee profiles | yes | no | no |
| CSS Customization | no | yes | no |
| Manage permissions | yes | yes | yes |
| Free plan | yes | yes | yes |
| Starting plan | $99 | $19 | $49.50 |
All three of the applications have well designed interfaces, yet we found that Get Satisfaction was the easiest to use as a first time user (your likely customer), as well as a business solution. Suggestion Box had added features for business people, though the additional options such as suggestions levels (future, pending, etc.) could be confusing.
Suggestion Box is the application that encourages crowd sourced suggestions the most, with a front page that lets visitors enter a company they want to comment on. All of the applications in the series allow users to comment on companies, but only Suggestion Box starts with the front page, making it more accessible.
Prices were most flexible with Uservoice, which has plans that begin at $19 a month and offers five plans with varying features. SuggestionBox.com has a flat rate of $49.50 with an increase of $9.95 for each user (administrative user). Get Satisfaction was the most expensive of the starting plans ($99), but gives support for 10 users and 10,000 customers with it.
All three of the applications fulfill the need for customers and companies to receive and manage feedback, each with attributes that appeal to different users. To find these applications, or applications like them, there is the Listio search: feedback+business.
As a side note, we’ve started discovering other applications that are using a non-intrusive, easy-to-install widget for business websites with functionalities other than collecting user feedback. Up next we will review one of these applications — Setster — that allows website visitors to schedule appointment times with website owners. To find similar applications, there is the Listio search: widget+business.
