    • I was one of the first users and still like it, but now use it concurrently with Picasa, Photobucket and Fotki - Picasa gives me 1Gb free space that Yahoo masters are too greedy to give, Photobucket offers unlimited photo linking hosting, and Fotki gives a lot better organization into albums, folders, subfolders, private folders, etc.

But Flickr is like Youtube - really great for viral connections - a lot of people would view your photos if you post at Flickr!

  • Flickr (and Ludicrous) virtually invented tagging and "folksonomies", a key component of Web 2.0-esque sites. They are also one of the first big Ajax sites, and have spawned a tremendous number of knockoff sites, some of which go so far as to copy Flickr's branding, hoping for a little marketing value to rub off.
